Welcome Back!

 Welcome back fellow Tigers!
It is the dreadful week after spring break, and we all are struggling to get back in the groove of things. I hope that you all enjoyed your spring break and turned up as much as possible because it is now CRUNCH TIME. Yes, the first half of spring was quite gloomy and slowed paced because of the cold weather and the few snow days; but now we have a little over a month to pull things together. This semester administration took our advice and had midterms before the break, what a relief! Spring Break is a week to let go and let god, I mean who wants to spend their last day of spring break looking over material? The thought of midterms after spring break is quite dreadful, so shout out to administration!
The foreign language department is hosting the International Food Festival on Wednesday April 13th in Elliot Hall. I know a few professors are offering extra credit points for participating in the event or dropping by and enjoying the international delicacies. But, if your professor is not offering extra credit, you should still come by and get some free food! Another event coming up in the LLP department is the “I Want to Write Conference” which will be April 22nd- April 23rd, which is a big workshop including open mic with Soul Fire, visual documentaries, and learning about different types of poetry. Please be on the lookout for more information about the #iW2WC and plan to come out and be a part of this wonderful event and support your peers!
There are a host of other events on the horizon within our department, including film screenings and trivia games.  Also, campus wide so please check our Facebook and Twitter page for more information on the events! Remember to finish the semester strong and take advantage of the things our university has to offer use these workshops and conferences on campus to your advantage!
I hope that everyone continues to have a great semester!
Truly,
Alexis Brooks
