Just in case you
missed the career fair last semester; the Career Development Center is hosting
a Reverse Career Fair on Wednesday, February 24th. What is a Reverse
Career Fair? Well instead of the student approaching the employer, the employer
will come to you! Different? I know but it gives you the opportunity to stand
out to different employers and hopefully get a job or internship. Hopefully, you
have been taking advantage of the Pupil to Professional workshops that have met
for the past few Friday afternoons. Each Pupil to Professional workshop is
preparing us for these career fairs and also the mock interviews we had last
week with Mr. Coleman (pictured left). If you cannot come out the Reverse
Career Fair tomorrow, be sure to stop by the Career Development Center in the
student center 3rd floor suite 304 and ask for some help. The people
in that office are there to help us students find figure out what we are going
to do with our degree. Make sure you are taking full advantage of all these
sources to help you on campus. The Reverse Career Fair had local employers like
the YMCA, Asurion, the CIA, Department of Defense, Memphis Police Department,
Dallas Police Department and a host of others. These employers love to give us
TSU students’ jobs so make a habit out of attending career fairs to get a
career that can put your degree to use!
Progressively,
Alexis Brooks
